The Metropol building on the corner of Miczkiewitzova and Špitálska Street has a great location within Bratislava. And not only because you can reach the heart of the Old Town within a 10-minute walk. Even the hood itself offers many places where you can spend your free time, whether you are a fan of cafes, good food, or spending time with friends. That’s why we’ve made a list of some interesting places and tips on what to do in the Metropol neighborhood.
One of the advantages of living in BE ONE Metropol is undoubtedly its location. The corner of Miczkiewitzova and Špitálska Street is an ideal location not only because of the walking distance to some universities (Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University, Faculty of Civil Engineering STU or Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology STU) and good accessibility to different parts of the city. There are also many cafés, restaurants, and places for active leisure. Well, everything that young people need and enjoy.
Bratislava has many places to have a decent meal or enjoy a good coffee – and the number of interesting bistros or cafés is growing all the time. Many of them are also within walking distance (within about 10 minutes on foot) of BE ONE Apartments Metropol.
The rich gastro scene in the Metropol neighborhood
Whatever your food preferences are, you will have no problems choosing the perfect food options. Those who appreciate traditional Slovak cuisine will enjoy Alžbetka or Slovak Pub on Obchodná Street. On Obchodna Street you will also find one of Bratislava’s most popular burger places QUINSBORO, the Italian bistro Panzerotto, the Indian vegetarian restaurant Góvinda, as well as a large selection of Asian bistros or kebabs.
Lovers of foreign cuisines will also enjoy the avocado club bistro with its fresh poké, Bistro Suvlaki with great Greek food at fair prices, or the French restaurant Colette. For a good pizza, you should definitely visit U Taliana on Krížna Street. And if you are a fan of street food, the street food place Polna is easily reached through Medical Garden. You will find food trucks with a variety of food: from pizza to Indian wraps and burgers.
Fans of specialty coffee also don’t have to go far for a good espresso or batch. Literally, a few steps away from the entrance they can find LOT coffee on Špitálska Street. A few meters further on the same street they can also find Kaviaren Vták or Matsu premium tea & coffee. On Obchodná Street you will find Sweet Beans Coffee Roastery, and in 10 minutes you can take a walk across to Ost block café on Blumentálska Street. It will be worth the walk! If you prefer more of an Italian coffee paired with delicious croissants, make sure to try KeP’ s on the corner of Záhradnícka and Moskovská Streets.
If you have a sweet tooth, Le Miam pastry shop on Špitálska Street or La Patisserka on Krížna Street are definitely worth a visit – and a little sin. You’ll find a good selection of pastries at Oli’s or The Midnight Bakery. And if you want to indulge in a good beer in a place with a vibrant atmosphere, we recommend Kollarko.
